Roger A. Chatell, currently a Field Director for the National Capital Area Council (headquartered in Bethesda, MD), will become District Director for the Keystone Capital District on August 1, 2016.
Roger began his professional Scouting career in September 2001 as a District Executive in Providence, RI. He became a Senior District Executive in East Hartford, CT in June 2005 and was promoted to District Director in September 2007. Roger’s career path next led to the Minsi Trails Council in October 2010, where he served as Field Director. In September 2013, Roger became a District Director for the National Capital Area Council before being named as one of that council’s Field Directors in January 2014.
A graduate of Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Work, Roger brings a wealth of professional Scouting experiences to his new role with the New Birth of Freedom Council. Roger also has an Associate of Arts degree in Human Services from the Community College of Rhode Island.
Roger is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow and has completed Wood Badge training. He has also served on staff for the 2013 National Jamboree and the 2007 World Jamboree.
