Whether you are new to Scouting or you’ve had many Scouts in your family, the Lion pilot program is new for everyone.
In the past, Cub Scouts did not include kindergarten-age boys, but now, Lions has been designed just for them and their parent or caring adult!
Since Lions is a pilot program in its second year, packs are endeavoring to Be Prepared and welcoming to Kindergartners and their families. Each pack participating in the Lion pilot has committed to having an experienced leader serve as the den’s Lion Guide. Additionally, the registration fee for new Lions is being kept as affordable as possible and other planning steps are being taken by every pack in the Lion pilot to ensure a quality experience for all participants.

Check out Kindergartners (hereafter called Lions) from our Council on abc27 Good Day PA! Note: during the exuberant interview, it was mentioned that the Lions will meet “every couple of months.” Lions attend two to three pack meetings throughout the year with all of the elementary aged Scouts. They also meet twice in a month with their fellow group of Lions, called a “Den,” for an activity and a “go see” to complete an “Adventure,” of which there are five.
