While Mother Nature decided to interfere with our original plans to hold our annual Program Launch event on June 6 by dropping a tree on the electric wires into Camp Tuckahoe, we’re ready to give it another try with Program Launch 2.0 on Thursday, June 20.
Note: We are aware that June 20 is Jubilee Day in Mechanicsburg, but our options were limited because we had to reschedule before the start of summer camp.
The 2004-25 Scouting year in the New Birth of Freedom Council is shaping up to be exciting. Highlights include major changes to the Cub Scout program, the Boy Scouts of America rebranding to Scouting America, and, looking out a little further, our “In the Shadows of 1864” council-wide camporee coming in September 2025.
To help your unit prepare for a great year, we invite you to attend the 2024 Program Launch at Camp Tuckahoe on June 20, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:45 pm.
Program Launch is open to adult volunteers and parents and will feature information sessions, exhibits from council committees, and vendor displays. All participants can enjoy a complimentary dinner (hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, dessert, and drink) for up to four people from each unit.
Pre-registration is required, and the sign-up deadline is June 13, 2024, at 5 PM. If you were registered to attend Program Launch on June 6, you must reregister because the date change will likely impact who can participate.
