Territory
The Indian Rock District encompasses five school districts in southern York County including York Suburban, Red Lion, Dallastown, Southern, and South Eastern. It is an extremely diverse region featuring rural agricultural areas, such as Felton, Winterstown, and Loganville, sandwiched between the more suburban areas of Dallastown/Red Lion to the north, and Shrewsbury to the south, reaching all the way to Fawn Grove to the East and Glen Rock to the West.
District Name
The name Indian Rock is a reference to the steps and hieroglyphs that were carved into the river rocks along the Susquehanna River tens of thousands of years ago by York County’s first residents; the Native Americans. Many of these river rocks and other artifacts can still be viewed at the Indian Steps Museum.
