We’re excited to introduce Michael Adelberg as District Executive for the Heritage Trails District. Michael is a retired career Army officer who was most recently stationed at the United States Army War College in Carlisle from 2014 until his retirement earlier this year. Michael brings his 25 years of leadership and problem-solving experience to his new role supporting Scouting groups in the Heritage Trails District in York County.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and also received a Master of Arts degree in national security studies from the Naval Post-Graduate School in Monterrey, CA.
Michael served for two years as a committee member at Troop 173, chartered to the Carlisle Barracks. Michael’s two sons were both Scouts, one earning the rank of Eagle Scout and the other being a Life Scout.
From 2015-16, Michael served as President and Treasurer of the Carlisle High School Band Boosters and he is keenly interested in history, with a special passion for Gettysburg, where he has worked part-time as a carriage driver and trail manager for park visitors.
Please welcome Michael to the New Birth of Freedom Council Scouting family!
