nbof-csp-icon-100In addition to the New Birth of Freedom Council Camp Rules, Scouts and leaders must also adhere to these additional rules during the winter months.

Buddy System Required: Campers must always travel with a buddy and stay within the central camp area near camp roads. Back trail hiking is only permitted in groups with adult supervision. Inform adults of your location.

Camp Roadway Safety: Snow piles along camp roads limit visibility. Always check both directions before stepping onto a road.

No Snow Cave Construction: Snow caves in piles or drifts are prohibited due to the risk of collapse.

No Ice or Snow Removal from Buildings: Removing hanging ice or snow is dangerous and can cause serious injury or death.

Clothing Drying Restrictions: Do not dry clothes directly on wood stoves or heaters. Keep clothing at least 12 inches away to prevent melting or burning.

No Sleeping in Vehicles with Engine Running: This is prohibited due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

No Flames in Tents: Open flames or heaters are not allowed in tents due to fire and ventilation hazards.

Ice Safety: Walking or skating on the lake or creek is prohibited due to dangerous thin ice.

Sledding in Designated Areas Only: Use only approved areas for sledding to avoid injury.

No Personal Heaters: Gas or electric personal heaters are not allowed in camp.
