36th Annual
York Distinguished Citizen Celebration
The 35th Annual York Distinguished Citizen Celebration will honor Michael Kochenour, Founder and Director of Traditions Bank, for his outstanding leadership and service to the community and for exemplifying the values of the Boy Scouts of America.
This year’s Celebration Chair is Gene Draganosky, Board Chair and CEO of Traditions Bank. and the luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at York College Campus’s Wilman Business Center Yorkview Hall. Recent honorees include Juiles Tolbert, Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith, Carl Vizzi, Steve Tansey, Patrick Kinsley, Todd Rutter, Jeffrey Lobach, Jeffrey Hines, Bill Scott, William Shipley, and Donald Graham. The event also served as a significant fundraiser for the New Birth of Freedom Council, raising funds to support local Scouting programs delivered to more than 5,500 youth members.
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the largest scouting organizations and youth organizations in the United States, with about 762,000 youth participants. The BSA was founded in 1910; about 110 million Americans have participated in its programs. BSA became a founding member organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922. The BSA prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
