Time to Select a Summer Camp for 2025!
The Leaders often encouraged the Scouts to choose a summer camp destination that met two basic requirements:
1. The summer camp had to be within a limited number of miles from home.
2. The Scouts had to research and tell why they wanted to attend that particular camp.
While many Troops travel each year to have different camp experiences, other troops remain steadfast to a particular camp year after year. I would encourage leaders to take a look at what Camp Tuckahoe has to offer this coming summer.
The most common comment that everyone agreed on that had the most impact on a positive summer camp experience was the quality of the summer camp staff. Each week at Camp Tuckahoe, we encourage leaders to tell us about our staff members who when above and beyond the call of duty so we could recognize them. In a world that often offers common stereotypes about this vs. that generation, we are happy and proud of the reputations of our camp staff. Each week we would hear about how this person or that person spent extra time working with Scouts, were so enthusiastic, and how they felt our camp staff truly cared about their Scouts.
