Popcorn and Nuts Sale

The New Birth of Freedom Council is pleased to offer the 2024 Popcorn and Nuts Sale for units to fund their programs and to help financially support their local council.   This fundraiser is held annually each fall and is a ready-made, turn-key, simple product sale that offers up to 40% commission to participating units.  We hope that through this sale, we can provide a safe, easy way for Scouts to raise money for their future Scouting Adventures.

By participating in this product sale, your unit helps build a strong and healthy local unit and the local council, which will build strong and healthy Scouts who will become tomorrow’s leaders!

Show & Sell Community Partners

We are excited to announce partnerships with Karns, Rutter’s, and Capitol City Mall for Show& Sell locations again in 2024. Units can sign up for these locations starting on July 1.  The New Birth of Freedom Council will coordinate the Certificate of Insurance at these locations for all participating Units. If your Unit hasn’t participated in Show & Sell, consider placing a risk-free consignment order and booking a location at one of these sites.

Consignment Orders

The Consignment Program is a wonderful opportunity for Units that want to add a Show & Sell component to their sale, either for the first time or with limited success. We offer two prepackaged top-selling product mixes valued at $4,088 or $ 8,176. Units may make multiple consignment requests during the Popcorn and Nuts sale. Units may schedule multiple requests but may not have more than one consignment out at a time. Units can return 100% of their request if it is returned by its due date.

CONSIGNMENT ORDER

Consignments can be picked up on Thursday or Friday each week. They are for 11 or 12 days (depending on whether you pick them up on Thursday or Friday) and must be returned the Monday after your second weekend. If you cannot pick them up or return them within those windows, please get in touch with your district kernel or district executive. Consignments can be picked up at the Mechanicsburg Service Center or Camp Tuckahoe.

If your unit plans to pick up or return a product at Camp Tuckahoe, we ask that you are present during the time slot you selected as this will be extremely important to ensure staff availability to assist.

Vendors

The New Birth of Freedom Council is committed to ensuring that we provide the best options for a successful sale, and that means securing vendors that provide a great product, a great return to Scouting, excellent customer service and sales support, and follow through on their commitments.  We had a great year with Pecatonica River, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for our sale this year.  We also look forward to continuing our partnership with Whitley’s Peanut Factory to provide the nut products for our fall sale.

We can’t wait to share more about this year’s sale and introduce you to what Pecatonica River and Whitley’s Peanuts offer.

Products

Pecatonica offers great-tasting products, and all of them are available in attractive TINS or branded Popcorn Buckets.   Prices are competitively established by our partners and reflect the quality of their products, all while helping to support Scouting.  Whitley’s core products are available again this year including a new Virgina Trail Mix.  We are working closely with our vendors to ensure all of the products selected for the sale will be available to units.  To see the complete product line and pricing click for each vendor the buttons below.

Prizes

The popcorn sale prize program incentivizes Scouts in several ways, aiming to motivate them to achieve higher sales and engage actively in the fundraising process. The program is designed to encourage Scouts to participate actively in the sale, enhance their salesmanship skills, and contribute to their unit’s financial goals. It’s a great way for scouts to learn while supporting their local scouting community. Our sale offers some terrific prize options through the Keller Prize Program in addition to Top-Selling Performer Prizes provided by the New Birth of Freedom Council.
