Friends call Michael Sargent “a doer,” a person who is enthusiastic, a developer of leaders, and most important, successful.
An Eagle Scout, Michael became a Tiger Den Leader for Pack 368, chartered to Charlton United Methodist Church in Harrisburg in 2015. The following year, he became Pack 368’s Cubmaster, serving in that role through 2019 and then becoming a member of Pack 368’s committee in 2020.
While serving as Pack 368’s Cubmaster, Michael took on additional roles with Keystone Capital District as Roundtable Commissioner, Unit Commissioner Merit Badge Counselor and he served as the District’s Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign chair in 2022. Many people will also recognize Michael as the primary presenter on the Council’s 2023 FOS campaign video.
For his work as a Cubmaster, Michael was recognized with the Unit Leader Award of Merit in 2018 and the Cubmaster Key in 2019. He also received the District Award of Merit in 2020.
Michael became an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 368 for two years (2020 to 2021), becoming the troop’s Scoutmaster in 2022 and he continues to serve in that role today.
Michael also managed to find the time to serve as the District’s Order of the Arrow Chapter Adviser and he has served on several Wood Badge staffs.
Michael works as an accountant for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services.
Outside of Scouting, Michael has volunteered as Little League coach and as a youth group leader and Sunday School teacher for Calvary Independent Church in Harrisburg.
